你還在用英語white hair來表示「白髮」嗎？

你要是對每個有白頭髮的老外都這樣說，肯定會被吊打的，相信我。

小U第一次關注「白髮」的英文表示方法，是在嘗試翻譯馮驥才先生的《白髮》時。

想都不想直接譯成white hair，結果翻看其他譯本時發現大多用的是grey hair，在顧問外國朋友、查閱資料以後，才發現原來是這麼一回事兒啊！

下面就端好小板凳和小U一起記筆記吧！

Grey Hair

Grey hair means the color of one"s hair is midway between white and black.

由此可知，grey hair 表示的是那種既有黑髮也有白髮的情況。

e.g. The man being described has greyish hair – hair that is slightly grey – perhaps he"s going grey!

這位男士的頭髮有點發白，可以理解為他有少許白頭髮，或者又是他的頭髮正在逐漸變白。

☆ a single grey hair：一根白頭髮

☆ a few wisps of grey hair：幾小撮白頭髮

White Hair

White hair means the color of one"s hair becomes completely white.

因此可以了解到，white hair 指的是一個人頭髮全白。

e.g. He is an old man with a red face and white hair.

他是一位面色紅潤、頭髮銀白的老人。

Black Hair

Black hair is the darkest hair color.

黑呀，這是真黑呀，就不需要小U再多解釋了~

e.g. She is a beautiful girl, with long black hair.

她是個美麗的女孩，有一頭長長的黑髮。
