1957年，金庸先生於《香港商報》開始連載《射雕英雄傳》，至1959年結束。
2018年2月22日，英國麥克萊霍斯出版社面向全球發行由瑞典譯者安娜·霍姆伍德（中文名郝玉青）翻譯的《射雕英雄傳》第一卷。
郝玉青與《射雕英雄傳》第1卷。這位熱愛武俠的譯者似乎也很有黃蓮花（Lotus Huang，即黃蓉）的靈動和美感
這是《射雕英雄傳》首次被譯成英文出版。
其間幾乎跨越了整整60年的時間。
可見翻譯之難，工作量之巨大。
如今，英文版《射雕英雄傳》，也就是《The Legend of the Condor Heroes》第一卷《A hero Born》（《英雄出世》）上市後，不但在西方產生影響，在國內，因為翻譯等話題，也再度形成一股熱潮。
很多人的興趣放在了“倒譯”上。
